I could not easily find any mention on (and the problem may be with ) to say that a purchase of goods offered which are presumably indicated in US Dollars, but which on beginning the ordering process is automatically converted into the buyers local currency, may incurr hefty exchange rate fees. Since I started typing this out (which I've done over a few hours) I notice I'm not the only person who wants to buy in AUSTRALIAN (AUD) dollars, who thinks something is very much not right with the price.

USE CACHEMAN SOFTWARE

I have purchased software from various websites in the past and I accept there is usually a REASONABLE commission charged for overseas currency conversion to US dollars rates, of perhaps 5% and up to perhaps 10% which is about the highest percentage I've ever encountered, but in this case, from the details I have shown, we are talking of way beyond even 10 percent: AUD $0.8725 per converted to US dollars AUD - $0.6882 per converted to US dollars Totalling AUD $0.1843 per converted to US dollar or in other words 18.43% exchange including commission (which is pretty steep eh!?) So unless something somewhere is terribly wrong with my maths, if I do ''buy now'' - as I'm now rethinking the entire deal, I'd be buying in US dollars and bearing ''the less than 5%'' exchange rate that a very major credit card providor (starting with a V*** or M*****) would charge me. Cacheman 7 2-Computers-License USD 39.00 Discount USD - 24.01 Total Amount USD 14.99 So USD $14.99 concurrs with the page info, whereas, if I chose to purchase in Australian currency - as first appeared on the screen, there'd be an extra cost ammounting too AUD $4.60 above the actual converted price of AUD $17.18 not including any commissions. Whereas, if I took the extra time to change currencies and opted to purchase in US Dollars (see exchange rate details at bottom of this entry) this is what I would be charged: 1. Cacheman 7 2-Computers-License AUD 53.28 Discount AUD - 31.50 Total Amount AUD 21.78 NOTE : For reasons of privacy I have X'd over the actual ordering number both above and below. If I chose to accept the first automatically converted Australian (AUD) dollars price: 1. I then closed all browser windows, opened a new window at the original page and went through the entire process again and seeing the same converted to AUD prices show up again, I was convinced that there was - in my opinion, a serious overcharge in the automated Australian (AUD) conversion prices, and I don't mean 1 or 2 cents per dollar but a whole lot more than that. The details of the converted price to AUD $ offer/order immediately grabbed my attention, however when I selected to have the prices shown in USD prices, the order prices where the same as those shown on the offer/info page.

Registration Protection Service price was not included. When I clicked on the green ''Buy Now'' button I was taken to a small window which said it was linking me and then up came the ordering info window in prices that had been converted from (presumably USD) to Australian prices. In detail : At present I'm located in Australia, and I looked in on to see what was currently on offer, and I saw Cacheman v7.xx offered and - having had some previous experience of CachemanXP, I thought I'd buy the 2 licence offer at ( presumably indicated ) USD $14.99. The localised ordered price grabbed my immediate attention (as exchange rates and commissions are not mentioned anywhere I could easily find) and I thought it best to bring this matter too your attention for your considered opinion. v7.0.0.2 to v8.xx to v9.xx to v?.? (including minor updates v7.0.0.2 to v7.0.0.3 etc)? Issue 2 is to do with the automated exchange rates used in purchasing a quantity of 1 lot of 2 Cacheman licenses: In brief : In my opinion, the exchange rate I was first offered in Australian dollars takes a very hefty swipe at the Buyer who is not in the USA, or, doesn't buy the goods in the advertised ( presumably indicated ?) US dollar price, but decides too purchase the offer in their local or chosen currency.
